An honest comparison between the EPI/Wero banking initiative, NexEuro and the private alternatives. Who will win?
Wero, driven by the European Payments Initiative, is the major banks' effort to offer a unified European wallet. Its strength: banking distribution. Its limit: coordination between players whose interests sometimes diverge.
Facing it, independent players are betting on experience and speed of execution. NexEuro is betting on a uniform experience, independent of the banks, that works on top of the account the user already has.
There probably won't be a single winner, but a coexistence. What will matter: real simplicity for the end user, free P2P, and trust. On those three criteria, we believe we have a card to play.
